It’s that most hated time of the year, yes, it’s time to do your taxes. Unfortunately, Animeblogger.net also has to pay it’s taxes. Animeblogger needs your help! Maestro is launching a donation drive to collect enough to cover three months hosting fee’s plus taxes. If you enjoy any of the blogers who use this service, please donate. Even a small amount would help.Maestro will update his blog with the info shortly.

Also, I will be returning to blogging. Due to some happenings in my life, I found much of my time being pulled away from writing. I’ll be updating much more frequently.

Moeu.

Accessories: Gun/vacuum, glasses, drinking glasses (X3), leg armor (left and right), shoulder armor (left and right), platter, rubber belts (X2), breast plate, six pairs of extra hands.

I found some magnaforce figures at KB toys while I was looking for some old transformers among other stuff (this KB has some old stuff, trust me.) and found the obscured brand name microman, remembering that microman has some pre-transformers history I immediately pick it up. Well the packaging said Takara, had Japanese symbols on it, and -shock- $2.50 PRICE TAG! So I bought the only one they had (Métis) and drove up the street. Sure enough they had Achilles, Phobos and Atlas. Bought em’ all. Then I looked it up and found out these where US versions, which aren’t quit as good as the originals, mine seemed to have some sort peeling feet (magnaforce figures have magnetic joints and magnets in there feet) not that it bothered me since only 3 of 4 micro men had peeling feet and the two I later ordered from hlj didn’t but hlj sells the Japanese ones. In addition to the two I orded I also bought the boundock MSIA for fifteen dollars on sale woo! And Yume who I haven’t spoke of until now.

This figure is very nice lots of parts and options detail is good but mostly made of violet transparent plastic with some painted details and chrome painted face, which at first I wasn’t so found on but regardless Yume is very kawaiiiiiiiiiii.

You have to pop certain accessories out by hand, that’s a pain since the plastic trees are a mess with model kits. I nervously pop the parts out but it was pretty clean, not like a model kit so much.

The vacuum is cute, until she whips a gun out on you then she’s just scary… the end of the vacuum is removable, forming her gun.

The bottoms on her drinking glasses can be removed making needles that I guess she shoots, threes also some kind of attack mode involving the two thin belts that can be placed on her leg amour connecting to her back, or from her back to her gun, in the back its held on by a special piece that sandwiches it to the back of her breast plate. I found that these belts warp easily and are hard to get in her gun, they don’t stick to her leg armor either. Her gun is also able to mount on her leg armor.

Shoulder amour clips on nicely to her petit arms except some times her arms slide off, its some what annoying how fragile she is. These don’t stand out much either, but make a nice detail.

Her platter/tray can be held and blades can be pulled out of it to, it also can be mounted on her leg armor or on either shoulder armor. The drinking glasses can be held, but not easily placed on her platter, maybe its not meant to though.

Her glasses are very cute and add such a good look, they stay in pretty well to. The slot they slide in is hard to notice on her face, the glasses are transparent, making them hard to see as well though.

Weight distribution here does not matter, she comes with a display stand that fits onto her toe and allows her to stand. Her problem is that she’s very fragile and come apart far to easily, but its mold overuse from how it sounds, but otherwise great figure, now if only they made microlady Fate and Nanoha … (nose bleeds.).

Pros & cons

Pros

-lots of parts

-cute and sexy

-excellent articulation

-multiple uses for most parts.

Cons

-very fragile

MU hasn’t gotten a post in a while so I thought start back with a post about some good ol’ MSIAs to get back in to business starting with the Tallgease.

Accessories: Shield, Beam saber (X2), Long rifle, Boosters (Left and right.).

Mine is the US version so of course no panel lines, but the detailing is otherwise what stands out on this figure (or maybe I just think the tallgease looks good as a mobile suit.).

Its articulation is where this figure has its problems, first due to a combination of a annoying chunk of plastic on the forearm, an old style hinge joint and what could have been better piece connecting the long rifle to the shoulder piece, it has trouble holding the long rifle, it actually almost can’t hold its long rifle while mounted on its shoulder and has trouble when not mounted on its shoulder.

The beam sabers are about average, though you can leave both hilts mounted in the shield, which is a nice feature. I would have preferred a beam rifle like the one you get with the Leo MSIA, since it had one in the show I think (sorry can‘t remember where) I guess you could just buy the Leo space type off eBay, but I really shouldn’t have to pay the outrageous prices that thing can go for, it should be there in the first place.

The boosters also have a fun little gimmick, when you pull the wings up thrusters flip out! While being fun the thrusters don’t stay out good and in addition mine came apart one day and was quiet cumbersome to get back together. Being some what sturdier than your average MSIA the Tallgease is perfect for play as long as your still careful. Weight distribution is very good on this figure should stand with ease on a display shelf and looks eye-catching with both beam sabers drawn.

Although I have complained a lot in this review, I love my Tallgease and you might also. Now for pro’s & con’s.

Pro’s

- very solid among other MSIAs.

- fun to play with.

- decently detailed.

- good weight distribution

Con’s

- articulation compared to modern figures is, well, bad.

- gimmicks aren’t solid.

This is an old MSIA so I can’t expect much, but still very nice to at least have some wing MSIAs that aren’t Gundams, though could have been better. On side note would be rather nice to have a second version Tallgease and Leo MSIA later remolded into the Mercurius and Vayeate, one can only wish.

First off, Haruhi season 2 was announced! Unfortunately, the animation will be handled by C&S, the same studio responsible for Gundo Musashi, and directed by Mitsuo Fukuda, with character designs by Hisashi Hirai. Kadokawa officials were unavailable for comments.

In other news, JAM Project will be signing the opening and endings to the new, hot-blooded Kyo-Ani epic “Lucky Star”. Lead signer Hironobu Kageyama reported that it will be their “most hot-blooded, intense, song ever!”

Speaking of Kyo-ani, after the series “Lucky Star” is completed, Kyo-Ani will go out of business. Anecdotal reports from Japan say that the OVA quality animation cost so much that they needed more revenue, but due to American fansubers, they lost every yen they had, and couldn’t feed their children. In bloging news, Impz has renounced his hatred of Mech and Shonen anime. He reported that he has already amassed a collection of Gundam models worth $2000, and has Naruto’s portrait plastered around his house.

Lastly, I will be changing the focus of Moe Union. While I still love anime, I have been convinced by many commentators that I have a need for Viagra and flowers for my non-existent girlfriend. This is what I feel I must focus on.

Good night, and good luck…

Three good announcements today, though all are Japan only. First, the Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni official website has announced that the second season will premier in July. This is very nice, as it seems the summer will have many big name titles. The second item of interest being two announcements made at the Tokyo Anime Fair, an Aria OVA, and a School Days TV series to air in July. Both are exciting, and hopefully turn out well.As for an update, I will be posting some more reviews soon, and I want to give everyone an idea of when they will be done…

Ikkitousen: Dragon Destiny Ep.3: Tomorrow.

2×2 Sinobuden ep.1-3: Tomorrow.

Ikkitousen (manga) vol.2: Soon (whenever the Library receives it)

The rest of Akihabara Denno-Gumi: Soon (I finished the series long ago, so I will have to rewatch these episodes)

Nodame Cantabile ep. 3-9: Soon (same situation as above)

Hopefully, some of you enjoy the reviews so far. I know I’m not that great at writing them at the moment, but I think I’m improving with each one, so bear with me for the moment.

I’ve been having some very depressing trouble lately with my martial arts school and job (both are connected), so that’s been taking all of my time recently. However, I’ve finally worked it out (not really, I’m out of work and have nowhere to train now), so now I have more time for anime bloging. I don’t have any money to buy anime/manga now, but at least it’s over.

However, we seem to be having some interweb turbulence, so things will take a while to get back to complete normalcy. Maestro is trying his best, so lets give him a big gambare and good luck.

Moe Union is back, and this time, I hope to update far more frequently.

Today, it seems that Toei has put up a new english language website. The properties mentioned include two licensed by Illuminitoon (Bo^7, Beet), two that are or were licensed by 4kids (One Piece, Pretty Cure), and one that has one of the most confusing on and off licensing situations I’ve ever seen, Digimon Savers.

For now, it’s all pretty much up in the air. For all we know, it could be just a English language site reaching out to distributors instead of consumers. It could also be them trying to get back into the R1 game.

If it is a sign that Toei is getting back into the R1 market, let’s hope that they learned from their past failure. While I haven’t seen the disc personally, I’ve heard that they were some of the worst to ever be released into the R1 market.

Come on Toei, give us something good this time. Please….

Just want to let everyone know that I haven’t dropped off the face of the Earth, that Moe Union is still going, and that I will post something tonight.

Life has been keeping me busy lately. Don’t these people know that I have no time for things like school and work! I hath more trying matters to attend to, such as blogging, watching anime, and playing Super Robot Wars OG2. :b

Really though, I’ve been very busy, so I’ve been neglecting my blog. My deepest apologies to all of my readers. Now that this is out of the way, I plan on coming back in full force (well, as much force as a blog can have) this week.

Hello and Happy New Year to those of you who are reading this. This is my first foray into the world of anime blogging, so I hope I get the hang of this quickly.

I’ll mainly be posting my opinions on various anime news (R1 and Japanese). From time to time, I’ll blog a few series, most likely stuff that has been released on R1 DVDs.

Anyway, now that the formalities are over with, I’ll actually post something in a day or two.
